' KEEN COMPETITION IN ALL EVENTS 1 LIST OF RESULTS ] I The Woodbury School Committee and ; friends who assisted to organise the gymkhana -which was held in the Wood- ( bury domain on Easter Saturday have ©very j reason to feel gratified at the excellent ' results attained. There was a very large attendance and. the weather being 'ideal, the outing was most enjoyable. The domain was in excellent order, and the various events were keenly contested. : Tho horse eventß wero very popular and most entertaining for the onlookerß. There were three stalls, wn»ch dsd good business, the stallholders .being Q Cain and A. McKenzie (produce) , _Mesdames D. Sharpe and R. A. D'Xon (jumble), Misses Vance and E. Fifield (sweets and soft drinks). The tearooms, in charge of Mesdames Browu, Bates. McDonald Stewart; and assistants, also did good business. The Geraldine Band selections. In the evening a successful dance was hold in the hall. The dance music was played by Mrs Brown's orchestra, and extras by Miss Gwen Heney jind Mrs B R. Marks (Christcliurch). Mr R. Webb was master of ceremonies. ... A competition for an iced cako was won by Miss G. M. Vance, a dressed doll was won by Ngaire Scott, and tho weight of a sheep was guessed exactly by Mr A. i>. Sharpe (1311b). The chairman of the school committee expressed thanks to all who had helped to make tho effort such a success, special mention beine made of the donors of trophies.
