—# KKiMT STOKEYS AT COST OF £293,000 . I'KEHS ASSOCIATIn* TELEGHAM.) WELLINGTON, April 14. The Cabinet has authorised the acceptance of Mr M. G. Templeton' 1 -: tender for the erection of an eightstorev building, 139 feet high, in Customhouse quay, for the Government Life Insurance Department. The building will be surmounted by a metal lighthouse, with the upper part of the structure floodlit at night.
The building will be highly earthquake and fire resisting. The price is £293,000. The contract is to be completed within two years. The work will probably begin next week.
