: At a gathering of persons interested I in the Band of Hope movement, held . recently in St. Albans, it was decided , t.o combine, and commence a united ' society to include Presbyterian mem- ; bers of the Church of Christ, Bap- : tists, members of the Salvation Army, and Methodists, monthly meetings to ' be held in rotation at the various 1 places. ; The first meeting was held last Fri- • day evening in the Edgeware road > schoolroom, when there was an attendI ance of &3. Ministers of the various • churches ■ were present. Mr Clarke : presided, and the programme was sup- > plied by members of the Riccarton r United Band of Hope.
