"GETHSEMANE"
+ - CANTATA AT ST. PAUI-'S There was a larse audience at St. Paul's Church, Cashel street, last twening, when "Gethsemane," the cantata composed by C. Lee-Williams for the Gloucester musical festival of 1892, was sun;-',. The cantata is an impressive setting of the words contained in the fourteenth chapter of St. Mark's Gospel. The narrative was syng by Miss Olive Smart (contralto); and the words of Jesus, by Mr Ernest Rogers (tenor). The work was elaborated with solos for soprano (Miss Jeane Grant), baritone (Mr Percy Caithness), and bass (Mr J. L. TennenU. Messrs Rogers, Francis, Caith--3*l ess and Tennent sang the male quar--lets, arid the full choir joined in the . choruses and chorales. The cantata k occupied an hour. k
