SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHING UNION Mr Palmer presided at the first bimonthly meeting of. the year held by the Presbyterian Sunday school teachers in St. Paul's schoolroom. After the opening exercises, the roll call was read by Mr W. A. Moir (honorary secretary). Delegates from Christchurch and suburbs were present, and greetings were read from Miss Kirkwood. A volunteer was asked to offer to superintend the Barrington Street Sunday School. The president introduced the Rev. A. C. Watson, who gave an instructive address on "The Origin and Purpose of the Shorter Catechism." Some discussion followed, and a hearty vote of thanks wss passed to the speaker, and to the teachers of St. Giles' Sunday School, Papanui, who provided and served the supper.
