ENGLISH TEAM TO TOUR DOMINIONS (UNITED PiIESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH— COPYRIGHT.) LONDON, February 14. .The Ladies' Golf Union emphasises that the number of players invited for the Australian and New Zealand tour will be reduced to five before the departure. Those selected at present are the most prominent international players, but more may be considered if they reveal form in coming fixtures, particularly in the open championship. The team will leave on July 7 and arrive at Fremantle on August 13. It will spend six weeks in Australia three weeks in New Zealand. [The following players have been asked if they can travel: —Mesdames M. R. Garon, W. Greenlees, A. M. Holm, Peel, and Walker. Misses Wanda P/lorgari, D. Pearson, B. Pyman, P. Sherlock, and P. Wade.] RICHMOND HILL CLUB ANNUAL REPORT The annual report of the Richmond Hill Golf Club will be presented at the twenty-fifth annual meeting on February 28. It states that the membership of the club is: Men—Life 5, active 73, absentee 5. Women—Life 1, active 64,' absentee 3. There are also 15 honorary members and four junior players. It is with the deepest regret that the committee had to record the death of Mr George Humphreys, the club's first life member. Without his generosity the club would never have been started 26 years ago, and he continued his interest in the club up to the date of his death. In the death of Mr J. M. B. Crawford the club lost another life member, who during the difficult period of the war years and after, served the club in many executive positions. It is thought that all members would agree that the course had never been in better order than during the last season. The difference in the greens on opening day from their condition in previous years, after having been watered during the dry summer months, was most marked, and although the winter months were continuously wet the course stood up to, play very well, and at the end of the ; season was in perfect order. Tees and greens have been further enlarged and a lot of drainage work has been done. The finances of the club are quite satisfactory, although maintenance expenses on the motor-mower, lorry, and pumping plant have increased. The cltvb paid off £Bl 14s 3d of the water supply account, leaving a balance of £2OO plus interest to be paid off in three years. The club has now completed 25 years of existence and the committee suggested holding a special competition to celebrate this event. AVONDALE CLUB The official opening of the 1935 season will take place on the Avondale links on Saturday, March 2, when members will take part in a mixed Canadian foursome.
