SOCIAL AND PERSONAL The Rev. David and Mrs Thorpe (Banks Peninsula) are visitors to Timaru for the Hartnell-Hall wedding. Misses E. Henderson (Milford) and Miss Muriel Henderson (Orakipara) have returned from a holiday spent on the West Coast. Miss K. Gillies has returned to Dunedin after visiting her mother, Mrs J. L. Gillies (Craighead street): Miss Alice Fairbank' ("Pinegrove," Cave) is touring the North Island. Mr and Mrs H. Oddie and family (Preston street) have returned from a visit to Purakanui. Mrs C. Dick (Akaroa) is a visitor to Timaru for the Hartnell-Hall wedding. She is the guest of Mrs Ivan Black (Orbell street). Miss Janet Paterson (Sefton street) has returned from a visit to Welling-, ton. Dr. and Mrs W. Fea and family (Elizabeth street) have returned from a visit to Akaroa. Miss G. Islip (Woodlands road) has returned from a trip to Arthur's Pass. Miss Marjorie Heasley (Nelson terrace) is visiting Christchurch. Mrs Nutt and Miss Eileen Nutt, who have been spending a holiday in Timaru, have returned to Christchurch. Mrs James Hay (Christchurch) is spending a few days with Mrs F. Bowe (Hart street). Miss Betty Macbeth (Wanganui) is spending a- holiday with Mrs Fleming (Timaru). Five O'Clock Party In honour of Miss Nancy Hall and Dr. A. M. Hartnell, whose marriage will take place to-day, Mr and Mrs David Solomon (Dunedin) gave a 5 o'clock party yesterday at the flat of Mr and Mrs G. R. M. Jones (Seaview terrace).
