WOMEN'S DIVISION OF FARMERS' UNION
TIMARU BRANCH Mrs B. E. Evans presided at the monthly meeting of the Timaru branch of the Women's Division of the Farm-| ers' Union. A motion' of sympathy was passed to Mrs Vincent (Kingsdown) in her recent bereavement.! Mrs Bruce Gillies reported having visited the health camp at Temuka, of which she expressed appreciation. It was reportd that Mrs Hart was in charge of the housekeeping and dressmaking calls during the absence of Miss Kingston. The president submitted a report of proceedings at the Dominion executive meeting held recently in Christchurch, which she had attended with Mrs Harvey and Miss Cargill. Dissatisfaction was expressed by members concerning the quality of sugar bags, it being stated that a quantity of sugar in each bag was spoiled by fibre. It was agreed to refer the compalint to the next executive meeting. , A competition for the best bloom was won by Mrs McConnel, Mrs King being second, and Mrs Devon third. Mrs Bell agreed to give a demonstra-: tion of glovemaking at the next meeting. !
