At the Basin Reserve to-day the touring team of English women cricketers defeated a representative XI. of Wellington girl players by an innings and 75 runs. Taylor, who captured four wickets for 6 runs off 12 overs, nine of which were maidens. The English girls replied with 191, Misses M. Child and G. Morgan adding 80 runs for the third wicket. Miss Child eventually scored 64, Miss Morgan 47. and Miss M. Richards 28. Misses Ell, Sheridan, and Simon were the most successful of the Wellington bowlers. Wellington fared even worse inttie second innings, which realised only 55, the last wicket falling on time. Miss Taylor again bowled sensationally, securing three wickets for 3 runs off six overs, five of which were maidens. This gave her the performance of seven wickets for 9 runs in the match.
