SEATING ACCOMMODATION IN THE SQUARE
TO TUB BDITOB 0* THB PHB3S. Sir,—l again wish to protest against the unfair treatment meted out to tram passengers. Several other letters have appeared in "The Press" but no notice has been taken by the City Council, which has charge of the seating accommodation, both in shelters and outside. One writer, after stating the case fairly goes on to blame the Tramway Board. Yet another is either anxious to see his name in print or wishes to kill the movement by ridicule. I think the people themselves should protest more. I predict that the people will not tolerate this much longer and will Remand an improved shelter on the lines of the old one and that the convenience and comfort of the living should have precedence over cold stone monuments. (This is not intended as any slur on John Godley.) Do our councillors ever take a look round to see for themselves when such grievances are ventilated in the papers, or do they not care one jot.—Yours, etc., PROGRESS. January 28, IA3-5.
