* If she were not so aggressively youthful in mind and body at 77, Mrs Bedford FenwicTt, of Dean's Yard, London, could surely be styled the "Grand Old Woman" of the nursing profession in Great Britain. Nurse at the Nottingham ("England) Children's Hospital in 1373, 'sister at the London Hospital from 1879 to 1831. and matron of St. Bartholomew's, London, till 1887, this amazing woman has since then lived a crowded life. In 1889 she became the managing director of the Gordon House Hospital and then founded the British Nurses' Association whicii now counts its members by the thousands. As president of the British nursing section at the first Chicago Exhibition, she was awarded two special medals, and then, joining the Red Cross, she did special work in the Graeco-Tur-kish War of 1899.
