ADMISSION TO THE CATHEDRAL

* J'RORLKM RAISED RY ROYAL VISIT An interesting aspect of the visit of the Duke of Gloucester to Christchurch is given in the current issue of the "Church News." On January 20 f'c Duke will attend the morning . .:i-vice at the Cathedral, and the Dean has already been approached by a good many enterprising persons who wish to secure tickets of admission to the Cathedral on that morning. It is desirable that it should be known that there will be no general distribution of "tickets." The regular Cathedral congregation whose names have been taken will be provided with admission cards, which will be available only to the person named thereon in person, and this will apply in each case where a privilege card is issued. It is the Dean's hope that it will be possible to allot a space for the admission of persons unprovided with tickets, but it is unlikely that with the number of official persons added to the 200 diocesan officials and the usual Cathedral congregation of 300 or so, there will be space for more than about 300. It is understood that in Sydney the Duke expressed a preference for a service of not more than 50 minutes' duration.
