CANTERBURY FOOTBALL PLAYER
I'OSITION SECURED IN ENGLAND Mi- Rex King, a former well-known Canterbury and University Rugby player, has secured a position on the stall of the Warrington Junior Instruction Centre at Lancashire, a school for children between the ages of 14 and 18 years. Mr King's school work occupies him only in the mornings, and his duties include physical drill, games, and genoral subjects. During the afternoon and evening he attends the School of Art daily, as he wishes to equip himself for a position as an arts and crafts specialist on his return to New Zealand. It is not likely that Mr King will return home for some time, as he has signed on for the Warrington Rugby League Club, and is very satisfied with the arrangement. He has done well on the football field so far, and is the only forward to appear on the scoring list for the whole league. In a letter, Mr King says that Canterbury should beat the best of (he English League sides, not because the English players are weak individually, but because the Canterbury team combines to much greater advantage. "From the little experience I have had with Rugby League," writes Mr King, "it is hats off to the New Zealand coaches." Mr King adds that he has nothing but praise for the way he has been received and treaV:d in England.
