BLOCK OF FLATS IN HEREFORD STREET

NEW BUILDING TO COST ;;; £6900 ; A start will be made within a-fort* night to erect a block of fiats in Hereford street at an estimated cost o£; £6900. The building will be of two storeys, of brick and reinforced con-, crete, and will be situated beyond Latimer square on a section which is at present used as a tennis court. Twelve flats will be provided, all designed on modern principles. The building will have a frontage of 43ft on Hereford street and a depttt of 140 ft. One of the outstanding features of the design is the complete privacy that will be ensured. Eactt tenant will have a separate entrance, and those on the top floor will not use the same entrance as those on tne lower. All the entrances will be from the back of the building, so that there will not be a constant traffic past the windows of the principal rooms. The walls will be sound-proof, and in eactt living room there will be an open fireplace in addition to electric heating. Both gas and electric services wUI be installed in the kitchens, and ample cupboards and lockers for tradesmen* parcels will be provided. The flats will be comprised of f living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchenette, but it will be possible to provide another bedroom « the tenant should wish it. Mr G. W.
