Sir,--On reading the article in "The Press" of November 17 on the lack of inter est in rowing, it was" obvious to most rowing men not members of the Canterbury Rowing Association that the lack of interest is due to one or two reasons, the chief of which is that the sport is governed by old and unenterprising men, who have not the confidence of the active rowing men. These men most assuredly have outgrown their utility. Instances of lack of enterprise are:— No championships held in Canterbury Jor at least 20 years." No applications i'or championship.
