MR ULM MAKES FAST FLIGHT

<•> TESTS WITH FULL LOAD POSTPONED (Received November 21, 9.20 p.m.) MONTREAL, November 20. Mr C. T. P, Ulm took off from Quebec at noon to-day and arrived at Montreal, covering the 180 miles in 60 minutes. The necessity for overhauling some of his instruments prevented Mr Ulm from making full load tests to-day. He will consequently not make an announcement about his plans for the Pacific flight till Wednesday. VANCOUVER PREPARES FOR TAKE-OFF VANCOUVER, November 20. The reported change in Mr Ulm's plans, to fly direct to Hawaii or Fanning Island from Vancouver instead of via San Francisco, has startled airmen here. To-day they began calculations for extending the half-mile runway to a mile. Mr Ulm will require nearly two tons of petrol. No final decision will be reached until Mr Ulm's arrival, which is likely on Thursday. He will have an escort of 10 local aeroplanes at the take-off.
