Lord Londonderry emphasised that although the citizen, as under the present law, would be able to send for ( ;hare a ticket in an Irish or other lottery, this would not give sweepstake promoters the right to flood the country with tickets. The bill represented a determination to restrict the flow of money to sweepstakes out of the country. The Government would take the necessary steps to achieve that object.
