—♦— — The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, arrived in Christchurch from Wellington yesterday morning, and went on to his home in Cheviot. The president of the Christchurch High School Old Boys' Association has received advice that the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, will ,be very pleased to extend his patronage to the Old Boys' Fete, to be held in the King. Edward Barracks on February 7, 8, and 9. Unless pressure of official duties prevents him from doing so, Mr Forbes has promised to come to Christchurch to open the fete. Mr D. Reese was a passenger from Wellington by the Maori yesterday morning. Mr A. M. Satterthwaite returned to Christchurch from a business visit to Wellington yesterday morning. Colonel S. C. P. Nicholls, D.5.0., N.Z.S.C., O.C. Southern Command, returned to Christchurch from the south on Thursday evening. Mr Fred G. Dunn has returned to Christchurch after a business visit of about three weeks in Australia. Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., who has been relieving at the Magistrate's Court at Wellington since the beginning of the month, will return to Christchurch ori Tuesday morning. Mr F. L. Hutchinson, past president of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation, returned from Wellington, where he attended the annual conference of the federation, by the Maori yesterday morning. The Rev. Clarence Eaton, president of the Methodist Conference, left for the north by the inter-island steamer last evening to attend the Hastings Methodist Church jubilee celebrations.
