FATHER A. L. BURGER LONG CONNEXION WITH STi BEDE'S COLLEGE The Very Rev. Father A. L. Burger, S.M., M.A., rector of St. Bede's College, will celebrate on Wednesday the silver jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood. Old boys of the college intend to mark the occasion by the presentation of an address to Father Burger on Wednesday evening. A Mass for departed old boys will be ' said at the college on Wednesday | morning. 1 Father Burger has been connected I With the college since 1914 and head- 1 master since 1930. He was born at V. Kurnara and educated at the Kuroara *"| Convent School, St. Patrick's College, I Wellington, and Canterbury University I College, where ,he graduated W»n I second class honours in History. He I was ordained on November 21, 19>w. > and was assistant priest at Waimate until 1914. For six months he was 8J St. Mary's, Manchester street, ana then he joined the staff of what was then St. Bede's Collegiate Schooj, Ferry road. He was still a member of the staff when St. Bede's CollegeJ» Papanui was opened, but in I* B * Father Burger accepted a position » head of a college at Mittagong, New South Wales.
