AIRMEN WELCOMED AT AUCKLAND
+ PERFORMANCES IN MELBOURNE CENTENARY RACE (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, November 16. Four New Zealand flyers who took part in the Melbourne Centenary air race—Mr J. D. Hewett and Mr C. E. Kay (Auckland), and Mr M. C. McGregor and Mr H. C. Walker (Manawatu)—arrived at the Mangere Aerodrome to-day. The Deputy-Mayor (Mr J. C. Entrican) and others welcomed the airmen, and congratulated them on their performances. REPAIRS TO AEROPLANE COMPLETED (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) PALMERSTON N., November 16. The repairs to the De Havilland Dragon Rapide, flown by Mr J. D. Hewett and Mr C. E. Kay, were completed this afternoon at 5.30; but because of the possibility of another night landing at' Auckland the departure was postponed till to-morrow at 10 o clock.
