CITY COUNCIL AFFAIRS
TO TUB IDITOE 01' TUB PBESS. Sir,—As a ratepayer, may I be permitted to voice my protest against the use of the City Council car and the ratepayer's money in footing the bill for Mr Thurston's jaunt to Timaru? No wonder we are unable to get our rates reduced if this is the way our Labour council is squandering our money. Although no friend of Mr A. E. Armstrong, I think he is to be commended for bringing this matter before the notice of the ratepayers, and if those responsible for the trip at our expense have not the conscience to foot the bill themselves, then the ratepayers have themselves to blame if they allow the matter to drop without entering their protest. Good luck to Mr A. E. Armstrong.— Yours, etc., P A C November 15, 1934.
