THE METHODIST ORPHANAGE
TO THB BDITOK 07 THE PRBSS. Sir,—ln his reply to my letter this morning Mr A. E. Haynes says my statement is incorrect, if he will refer back to my letter he will see I said breakfast. I know the children have butter once a day, but surely they could have it for breakfast also. Which of us would like to be cut down to butter once a day. If they had no funds of course it would be a very different thing. I heard a child remark: "If they didn't build such a big place and gave us some butter for breakfast it would be ttetter." Out of the mouths of babes, etc. Trusting this will do a little good.—Yours, etc., E.M.H. November 13, 1934. [When this letter was referred to Mr A. E. Haynes, manager of the orphanage, he said that as the correspondent was not satisfied with his previous reply he would therefore invite him to visit the children's home and see for himself whether the children had sufficient health-giving food or not, and then perhaps, instead of finding fault, he might help to provide the butler for the fatherless and the motherless child.]
