Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rough about Cook Strait and in the far south; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to strong northerly winds; but a change to southerlies advancing from the south-west; seas moderate to rather rough.

Weather—Fair at first in most districts, but rain developing in western and southern portions of the South Island, later becoming more widespread. A cool change extending over .the South Island, but otherwise warm temperatures.
