AMERICAN DAVIS CUP PLANS DEFECTION OF LOTT AND STOEFEN (rNITBD PRESS ASSOCIATION—BT ELECTBIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received November 15. 9.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 14. The defection of G. M. Lott and L. R. Stoefen to professionalism has not upset America's Davis Cup plans or weakened the confidence of Mr W. M. Hall, president" of the Lawn Tennis Association, in the country's chances of giving England a brisk challenge, he said to-day. "For the singles we have a pair of seasoned and reliable international players in Allison and Wood," he said. "It is pretty early to forecast what will happen in June, but for the doubles there are Donald Budge and Gene Mako, oC the Pacific Coast. This pair, I should say, shows promise of surpassing the greatness of Lott and Stoefen as a team."
