♦ SUPERINTENDENT APPOINTED LTHE PRESS Special Serric*.] WELLINGTON. November 15. The appointment of Mr G. E. Miller to the position of superintendent of the State Advances Department was announced 10-day by the Public Service Commissioner (Mr P. D. N. Vcrschaffelt). Mr Miller, who has filled the position of deputy-superintendent since August, 1932, succeeds Mr E. O. Hales, who has been appoints Public Trustee. Mr Miller entered the public service as a cadet in the Treasury Department on March 13, 1906. He was transferred in 1913 to the State Advances Department, where, except while he was absent as a member of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, he remained until August. 1919. when he was transferred to the Public Trust Department at Wellington. He was appointed to the position of DeputyPublic Trustee in Wellington on April J. 1925. and held that position until June. 1932. when he was again transferred to the State Advances Office as deputy-superintendent, in succession to Mr A. A. Pritchard. who retired on superannuation. Mr Miller is a qualified solicitor.
