BUILDING OF SOD HOUSES
H. R. WILKINSON. November 12, 1934.
TO TIIE EDITOR Of THE FXKSS. Sir, —I should be most grateful to any of your readers, old timers, pioneers, or descendants of pioneers, who would be good enough to give me a few details concerning the method of building so-called sod houses, etc. By this I do not mean the "turf layers" system, but rather the composite of clay and vegetable fibre. Apparently many people have rough ideas of the actual method of but actual facts are hard to obtain.—Yours, etc., HOPEFUL COCKIE. November 12, 1934.
