THREE KILLED BY MACHINE-GUN
DEMOCRATIC PROCESSION FIRED ON NINETEEN INJURED (UNITED TRESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received November 6, 10.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 6. The first election violence is reported from Kelaynes, a mining village in Pennsylvania, where three were killed and 1!J, including six women, injured. Several of these are reported to be dying. Unknown persons fired a machincgun on a parade of Democratic supporters engaged in a final political rally. The immediate cause of the outrage is not known, but according to reports, machine-gun fusilades came from the second storey of a building reputed to be the home of a prominent Republican politician. Emergency police were called to prevent the Democrats making reprisals on the alleged perpetrators or there would have been a massacre. The outrage was the climax of a long period of factional strife.
