WELCOME TO LORD BLEDISLOE
DKCISION or PARISH <or\( ii LONDON, JuJy 26. Lydnev is justly proud of the spiondid work of Lord Bledisloe, Governor-General of Now Zealand, whose ancestral home is at Lydney, and at the Lydney Parish Council it. was agreed that he should be given a warm welcome when lie returns next year, says the "Western Daily Press and Bristol Mirror." The suggestion of a civic welcome was made by Mr Yeatman (vicechairman), and ihe council agreed to consider arrangements. Mr Yeatman said that following his letter remarking on the splendid way in which the tenants of the recentlyerected council houses at Lydney had kept their gardens, lie hud received a reply from Lord Bledisloe oflering a trophy for annual competition for the best council house garden. Lore! Bledisloe further staled that lie would be prepared to offer a second silver cup for gardens of houses other than council houses. The council, decided to write to Lord Bledisloe thanking hmi for his oh'er.
