DRAGGED INTO MOTOR-CAR j AND DRUGGED j ifaias *3SotiAUoa ir.tiosAM., WELLINGTON, August 30. A ycung man has reported to tha police that he was inveigled into a motor-car on a recent night, assaulted, and left in a vacant section. His story is that as he was walking along Hansen street about 8 p.m., he was hailed by a man in a closed car j drawn up at the side of the road. He crossed the street and spoke to the man, who asked him if he would have a look at something inside the car. By that time he had seen that the car contained four men. The next thing he knew was that he was seized, and a handkerchief saturated with chloroform or some such drug was clamped over his mouth. When he came to about three hours later he found himself lying in a vacant section in the vicinity of the Winter Show building. He reached his home with difficulty, and was confined to his bed for some days. The assault appears to have been completely motiveless, as the young man was not robbed.
