♦ SOMERFIELD CLUB At the annual meeting of the Somerfleld Racing Pigeon Club held on Wednesday evening, Mr H. J. Henry presided. In his report the secretary, Mr F. Ockwell, stated that a successful flying season had been experienced. It had been decided to limit the membership to 30 for the coming year. The balance-sheet showed' a debit balance of 6s 10d, but there were outstanding fees for mileage and membership, amounting to £2 0s Bd. Receipts for the year amounted to £45 18s 3id, and expenditure to £46 5s ljd. A new system for the awarding of points was approved. EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB The first annual meeting of the East Christchurch Flying Pigeon Club was held in the Young Men's Christian Association rooms, Mr D. Blanchard presiding. The balance-sheet showed that receipts had been £lO5 12s Id, and expenditure £lOl 2s 2d, leaving a credit balance of £4 9s lid. Mr H. F. Evans gave £1 Is for a special prize in the nominated yearling race (two birds), to be flown from Palmerston North on October 13. Mr N. Special prizes were given by Mrs W. H. MacDougall, Messrs P. C. Crooke, C. Walden, A. S. Wislang, R. L. Kennett, W. Henry, H. F. Evans, 3nd J, H. Beale.
