HARMONIC SOCIETY'S CONCERT TO-NIGHT
♦ The Christchurch Harmonic Society will give its second concert for 1984 at the Radiant Hall to-night. The principal work of the evening will be the first performance of an original composition by Mr Claude A. Williams, the Christchurch musician, entitled "The Blind, Obedient Dead." Mr Williams's work is exceedingly attractive and should be exceedingly popular. The supporting programme will include the massive "Benedicite" by Vaughan Williams and three numbers by Gustav Hoist. Mr S. C. Andrews will sing a bracket of tenor solos and Mr Terence Vaughan will play a modern group of pianoforte solos. The programme is exceedingly varied and should be popular. The public is advised to reserve at Beggs. The concert will be repeated on Saturday evening.
