former members of PARLIAMENT .. / 1 PROVISION IN ESTIMATES A sum of £3720 for special annuities Is contained in the Estimates of the Pensions Department, tabled in the House of Representatives last week. In addition, amounts totalling £920 appear under the heading "For services in Legislative department," £451 to supplement superannuation, and £147 in grants recoverable from the Postal Department, making a grand total of £5238. The following are special annuities proposed for former members of Parliament: Messrs F. N. Bartram £100; J. S. Dickson, £100; A. E. Glover, £120; V. H. Potter, £100; T. W. Rhodes. £100: G. W. Russell, £120; W. T. Wood, £100; J. Rigg, £100; J. E. Jenkinson, £100; R. McKenzie, £IOO. The following are annuities for widows of former members 6f the Legislature: Mrs H. Barr, £120; Mrs E. H. Brown, £7B; Mrs K. Colvin, £100; Mrs K. T. Dickie, £100; Mrs M. Hall, £100; Mrs B Hogg, £100; Mrs H. E. Holland, £120; Mrs M. Mills, £120; Lady Pomare, £l5O. Other annuities are:—G. Bailey, for ' disability contracted during the South African War, £6O; Mrs M. Bicker ton, widow of Professor Bickerton, £120; A. E. Burton, compassionate allowance on account war service, £130; M. W. Coates, compassionate allowance for alleged injury to son at Wanganui Technical School, £SO; F. W. Cornwall, injured in Shelly Bay explosion, £39; Mrs C. W. Freeland, widow of Captain Freeland, of minesweeper Simplon, £9l; Mrs M. W. Hall, widow of late W. Hall, chief clerk, Mines Department, Greymouth, £sl; Mrs L. Hood, widow of Captain Hood, lost attempting Tasman flight, £97. Colonel J. G. Hughes, m lieu of superannuation, £142; Mrs Z. K. MacDonald, widow of Captain Mac Donald, of transport Aparima, £171; W. P. Newman, disability contracted in South African War, £52; Mrs H. A. Olive, husband killed in Mahanga Bay, £52; A. H. Packer, former constable, injured In service, £4O; C. Perry, compassionate allowance equivalent to married miner's phthisis pension, £57; Mrs M. Phelan, widow of Denis Phelan, killed in water race, £52; Mrs O. K. Phillips, widow of member of crew of transport Tahiti, £7B; Mrs R. H. Rawson, husband injured in Maori War, £45; J. H. Shortt, accidentally injured, shell explosion, Foxton, £4O. Miss S. E. Warnock, compassionate allowance for disability received while - nursing at St. Helens Hospital, £104; " E. L. Wellbourn, allowance on account of war service, £7B; Mrs C. P. White, compassionate allowance equivalent to permanent war pension payable to husband, who died after effecting rescue of a child from drowning, £52; H. L. Worthington, compensation in connexion with manufacture and sale of patent hawser-disc and rat trap, £l2O. The following are particulars of grants to supplement superannuation: —J.
