FISHER BEATS SPENCER TOURNAMENT AT IIAKAIA There was a largo attendance at the ama teur boxing tournament held at* Kakaia on Tuesday evening. The principal bout was a feather-weight contest between Norman; Fisher (Canterbury champion) and Carmen Spencer (Southland and Otago champion). Tho contest was of six two-minute rounds. Mr T. Hooper referced tho local bouts, whilo Mr E. Poeock was referee in the open bouts. The judges were Mr B. Uennell, of Christchurch, and Mr J. B. Cullen, of Ashburton, and Mr M. V. Brown was announcer. Fail (Christchurch), 9st- 131b, beat T. Forward (Christchurch), lOsfc 41b, on points. Bantam-weight—S. Mitchell (Christ* church), Sst 81b, beat S. Guthrie (Ashburton), Bst 71b, on points.
