COWS PARALYSED BY ELECTRICITY
* ENGINEER'S S\VIFT ACTION SYDNEY, August 20. Prompt action by the Sutherland Shire Council electrical engineer this afternoon saved the lives of a herd of cows, which were paralysed by a leakage of electricity in SeavieW street, Cronulla. Samuel Green, a dairyman, was driving the cows along the st [ when they commenced to fall I'** ninepins, and lay motionless on.tne ground. Riding forward into the aifected area, Green also received a shock, and his horse fell. , Green rushed to a telephone a<™ explained the matter to the cngincei. who raced in a car to the sub-station and cut off the electricity. The cows recovered slowly at lirsi, and then, jumping to their tcex, moved away. in The electrified ground was due xo a leakage in a house circuit nea l D>; and did not come from the street main, the engineer explained.
