CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION MEETING OF EXECUTIVE | COMMITTEE j The executive of the Canterbury i Rowing Association met last evening, j Mr F. D. Kesteven presiding. j A letter from the Canterbury delegate to the New Zealand Association | (Mr M. A. Turner) stated that the j New Zealand Council had decided to : buy an eight from Mr George Towns, the well-known boat builder of Sydney, for the East Coast Rowing Asso-1 ciation, payment to be made from revenue. , , The Kawatiri Rowing Club '.Westport) advised that it had appointed Messrs F. H. Brown and O. H. Haddock delegates to the association for . the coming season. , . The chairman's action in appointing the secretary, Mr R. J. Hobbs, as delegate to the Pioneer Amateur Sports Club committee was approved. A letter from the New Zealand University Tournament Committee expressed appreciation of assistance given by the association at the 1934 tournament. Notice was received from the New Zealand Association that the annual meeting of delegates to the association would be held on October 18. Advice was also given that the Auckland association had applied for the championship regatta, and the Wellington and Marlborough associations for the eights. September 25 was appointed the date for the annual meeting of the Canterbury Association, and it was decided to recommend to the incoming committee that the opening day be held on October 27.
