♦ PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDA IKS CHOSEN In view of the persistent rumours that there will be a general election of members of the House of Representatives this year, the Labour party organisations in Christchurch have sheeted candidates to contest all the Christchurch seats, with the exception of Christchurch North and Kaiapoi. For these two electorates two candidates have been nominated in cam case, and selection ballots wn bo taken shortly. In tnree of the othei four electorates the sitting membeis have accepted nomination, and Mr O. T Thurston has consented to stand tor Riccarton against Mr H. S. S. Ky.c, M.P. „, n . T K The Deputy-Mayor tCr. J- ftArcher), who contested Kaiapoi last election, has not accepted nomination for any local seat. It is believed thane will be asked to contest one of the southern seats, possibly Invercargill. It is understood that Messrs C. Morgan Williams and J. Mathison have been nominated for Kaiapoi, and Mr Mathison and another person for Christchurch North.
