Sir Archibald Weigall is to represent the Royal Empire .Society as its chief delegate to Australia on the occasion of the Victoria centenary celebrations next autumn. Sir Archibald Weigall will sail in September and visit every state of the Commonwealth, but he has not yet made up his mind whether he will go on to New Zealand or not. The Rev. John Pigott, vicar of Newtown Linford, near Leicester, has been appointed rural dean of Sparkenhoe 111. by the Bishop of Leicester. The deanery is the one in which his present parish is situated, and he is staying on at Newtown Linford. Mr Pigott is taking part in a very large missionary exhibition to be staged in Leicester at the end of April. He will be head . of the Australian and New Zealand court. ' Mr G. L. Agar (Khandallab, ■Wellington), of the Post and Telegraph Department, has been in England since the end of 1932, studying English methods. He spent nine months with the British Post Office in various parts of the country, and lias r.btained a good deal of knowledge of the engineering and traffic branches of his business. For the last three months he has been with the General Electric Company, at their telegraph works at Coventry. He leaves England at the end of . this month and will spend five weeks in America, where he will be in touch with the American telegraph and telephone companies. Mr P. S. Byrne (Wellington) is now rehearsing in London for a tour with the Arts League in the South of England and Wales. He began his professional career as an actor in London last spring, when he played Slender in Oscar Aschc's production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor.". He was in "Advertising April" and "London Wall" with the Greater London Players, and then played the part of Comus in •'Comus" at the Open Air Theatre, Pctersfield. Immediately afterwards he began rehearsals with the Arts League of Service for a three months' tour of Scotland, including visits to the Isle of Arran and Caith- • ness.
