WHIPPET RACING

NORTH CANTERBURY CLUB On Saturday, heavy rain and bleak conditions made things unpleasant for the North Canterbury Whippet Club's race meeting at WoodeDd. As several visiting dogs were nominated, it wan impossible to postpone the meeting. The racing, however, was well contested, and a double of considerable merit wii secured by Mr h. J. Ooxon's Rossaway, which gained first place in the open hurdles and the first-class fiat event. The results were as follows: — FIRST-CLASS FLAT HANDICAP (Sweepstake). 200 yards. L. J.
