—♦ — WELLINGTON REGATTA SEVERAL CLOSE FINISHES , (PRESS ASSOCIATtOH TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, February 10. Large entries, keen competition, and favourable weather made the annual Wellington rowing regatta, held in the harbour on Saturday, one of the most successful seen for some time. The regatta was specially noteworthy for the large number of close finishes. The principal event of the day, the senior fours, providing in its closing stages, when the Aromoho and Wanganui Union crews fought neck and neck to gain the lead, a truly thrilling spectacle. A finish that was just as exciting occurred in the youths' fours, when Gisborne managed to secure first place by a bare foot from Union (Wanganui). Results:— MAIDEN PAIRS. One mile. Petone (O.
