WOMAN ACQUITTED AS INSANE 1 J: -'- ASSOCIATION 11,1.r.G RAV.) AUCKLAND, February 9. Airs Jane Evelyn Craig, aged 33, was formally tried in the Supreme Court on a charge of murdering her two-months-old baby at Avondale on January 22. After evidence of mental specialists- had been given, the jury, without leaving the box, acquitted her on the ground of insanity, and his Honour Mr Justice Herdman. ordered her detention in prison until the pleasure of the Minister for Justice is known.
