MEETING OF COMMITTEE ■At a meeting of the committee of the Hororata Racing Club there were present Messrs H. Oliver (in the chair), G. H. Grigg, W. Kellaway. T. D. Jarman, H. A. Boyle. A. McKenzie W. Leeming, J. Marsh, It. Murray, and L Derrett. A letter was received from the New Zealand Racing Conference stating that it had been suggested that a conference of secretaries of clubs be held in March next, and asking for the expression of opinion of the club. It was considered unnecessary that the club be directly represented, as it would be guided in most matters by the metropolitan clubs. A report of the race meeing held at Riccarton on December 16, 1933, was submitted, showing a substantial profit. The chairman reported that the course committee, Messrs Oliver, Grigg,, Derrett, and McKenzie, considered that the course should be ploughed up, resown, and put in good order. A motion was passed deciding that this be done. It was also decided to engage a surveyor to make a survey of the course to see whether the bend coming into the straight could be improved. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Oliver, Grigg, and McKenzie, was appointed to supervise the work, with power to act. It was decided to apply for December 15. 1934, for the club's race day at Hororata. AUSTRALIAN RACING PETER PAN SCRATCHED I'OR SYDNEY CUP (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BT ET.It'TBIC TELEGRAM— COPYRIGHT.)
