NEGOTIATIONS WITH AUSTRALIA
TRADE DISCUSSIONS TO HE CONTINUED LATER (PRESS AS3OCIITIOM TBI.ECIUM.) WELLINGTON, February 9. Mr F. H. Stewart, Federal Minister for Commerce, left Wellington on his way back to Australia today. In a joint statement the .VTiuister for Finance (the Hon. J. G. Coates) and the Minister for Industries and Commerce (the Hon. rt. Masters) say that various subjects of interest were closely investigated, and details discussed. It wis iiot yet possible, however, to arrive at a final agreement, and it would oe necessary to continue the discussions at a later date. With this object in view Mr Stewart has at the request of the Prime Minister of Australia (Mr J. A. Lyons) invited the New Zealand Government to send a Ministerial delegation to Australia on a date yet to be arranged.
