The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) arrived in Auckland by motor-car from North Auckland last night. He will attend the Royal Show to-day. The Minister for Finance (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates) arrived from the north yesterday morning and attended the show in . the afternoon. He left for Wellington by train last evening. The Minister for Health (the Hon. J. A. .Young) accompanied by Mr R. W. D. Weaver (Minister for Health in New South Wales) will visit the Royal Show to-day. The Minister for Defence (the Hon. J. G. Cobbe) left Hamilton last night for Welling-' ton. Mr D. McDougall, M.P., arrived from Wellington yesterday morning. Mr S. Innes-Jones returned from Wellington by the Rangatira yesterday morning. Mr T. D. M. Bradley, who has been stationmaster as Leeston for the last four years, has been transferred to Christchurch, and will be succeeded by Mr J. Creagh, of Christchurch. Canon Stephen Parr, principal of College House, returned to Christchurch yesterday' after a visit to the Chatham Islands. Sir Philip Game, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Lady Game and Sir Henry and Lady Wigram, paid a visit to the Wigram Aerodrome yesterday to meet officers of the New Zealand Permanent Air Force and inspect the Air Force machines. Sir Percy Mackinnon, chairman of Lloyds, according to private advice received in Wellington from London, will visit Australia and New Zealand tljis year, and is expected to reach New Zealand about the end of March. Mr J. J. Dougall, president of the Canterbury branch of the Navy League, was welcomed at the meeting of the general committee of the league last night after his recent illness. Mr Dougall said that he felt that he had to offer some sort of apology for his absence for many months, absence through, no fault of his. He was not yet quitfe well, but hoped soon to be completely restored to health. References were made at the meeting of the general committee of the Navy League last night to the deaths of Mr J. D. Lynch, Mr T. W. Bruce, Mr W. M. Hamilton, and Mr W. D. Lawrence, and motions of condolence with the relatives were agreed to, members standing. Referring to Mr T. W. Bruce, the chairman (Mr J. J. Dougall) said that Mr Bruce had taken a very keen interest in the Navy League on tha West Coast, and was personally responsible for whatever activities of the league there had been on the West Coast. The meeting also passed a motion of sympathy with the relatives of Mr J. Waddell Smith, formerly for many years president of the Otago branch of the Navy League.

The retirement of Mr W. C. Flewellyn, delegate from the Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Club to the Lancaster Park Board was announced at a meeting last evening. The chairman, Mr H. H. Wauchop, referring to the board's loss, said that Mr Flewellyn's fine work had been of great assistance in the past not only to the board but to all sports, athletics in particular. Every member of the board nreatly regretted his retirement, and hoped that he would be able foivio day to return. Mr Wuuchop's remarks were endorsed by every member of the board, and fin? tributes were paid to Mr Flewellyn's work. Mr Flewellyn said that it was with great regret that h'3 was giving up his position as a delegate. He would say that he had never been associated with better men than those he had been v/ilh during his six years as a member of the board. Mr Flewellyn's seat will be taken by Mr G. E. King.
