SWIMMING
NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL OFFICIALS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING The New Zealand Amateur Swimming Council met last evening, Mr C. Bryant presiding. Mr J. Hislop was welcomed to the council as delegate from Hawke's Bay, and, he was appointed to the centre reports committee. Mrs K. le Cren, of Christchurch, was granted permission to act as an official. The chairman, reporting on the New Zealand junior and intermediate championships held at Palmerston North, said that the conduct of the championships throughout was deserving of the highest praise. The weather had been fair, and the baths and appointments had been excellent. However, public support had been lacking, and he felt sure that a heavy loss would be incurred by the Manawatu Centre. The delegates had been hospitably entertained during their stay.
It was decided to send a letter of thanks to the Manawatu Centre.
