DR. FONG FOO SEC

A DISTINGUISHED ROTAKIAN The splendid gesture of Rotary International in appointing Dr. Fong Foo Sec, M.A., Ph.D. LL.D., of Shanghai, to represent it at the district conference of Rotary to be held at New Plymouth at the end of this month, was referred to by Mr T. C. List, District, Governor, in an address to V/anganui Rotarians this week.

Mr List added that Dr. Sec had been sent by his father to Sacramento that he might learn gambling and return to his native land and teach his people. On the way over . to America the young Chinese came under the influence of some good people, and instead of learning gambling he went to school, and became possessed of practically every scholarship there was to win.
