FIVE PERSONS DROWNED IN QUEENSLAND
BRISBANE, February 6. Five drownings as a result .of flooded rivers occurred yesterday. Mrs May and her three children were drowned when a rowing boat struck a tree in the middle of the Melntyre river. Her husband reached the bank after frantically trying to rescue his family. Arthur Findlay. aged 17 years, lost his life in trying to cross the swollen Theresa creek on horseback. He was swept away.
