NEW ITALIAN ARMY UNIFORMS
I MUSSOLINI'S DIV ISION j ROME, November 25. j Signor Mussolini, as Minister for War, has decided to change the uniforms of the Italian Army officers. The green-grey service uniform ! will retain its colour, but have i turn-down collars as in the British Army, and ties will be worn always. The high coilar which has been worn in the Italian Army since its foundation will disappear. The second change is that, in | summer, white drill uniforms may j be worn with black ties. The third is an entirely new uniform. The tunic is to be double-breasted and j of black broadcloth; it resembles j the pre-war tunic worn by the | Italian cavalry, but discarded in i recent years. The trousers arc also black. ' The traditional facings and stripes will mark the various lcgiments. The collar is high. The new grey-green uniform is obligatory for all officers and will be the ordinary service uniform. 1 Owing to the expenses entailed m i buying a new military outfit, officers will be given reasonable time before having to wear the new greygreen uniform. _ The other two are optional, with the proviso, however, that the black uniform be worn for social events and all functions which officers attend when off duty.
