EXPENSIVE MONKEYS
DIET OF BANKNOTES VIENNA, November 20. Last year Professor Kaplan, an engineer, bought two monkeys, and took them to his estate near Lake After in Upper Austria. _ Their cages were put in the professor's study, and they were occasionally permitted to leave them. The other day they discovered Professor Kaplan's note-case, and taking out the banknotes they consumed them with the greatest glee. By the time this was discovered they had eaten as much as 1000 schillings (£35) in notes.
