The South Canterbury Bowling Association's tournament was continued this morning in dull weather, which later changed to rain and hail showers. Consequently play was postponed in the afternoon till to-morrow. In the final of the rinks match Ashbury (Kebby, Cornwall, Clark, and Hamlyn) beat North East Valley (Hands, Buttar, Colbert, and Tonkin) by one point, the scores being 15-14. The issue was in doubt until the last bowl was sent up. At one stage Ashbury was eight down, but scored the last six heads, gaining a win with two on the last head.
