A 1 Jolson, the man who set the world singing "Sonny Boy," the theme song of the talking film "The Singing Fool," has announced that !he is to retire from films after the completion of his next picture. "It is very strenuous being a mm star," he says, "and fame, glamour, and success do not mean the same after a man passes 40. "I am happy. I have still got a couple of million and a wonderful wife, so what is the use of worrying about film work." Jolson is 47 and his "wondertul wife" is Miss Ruby Keeler, who has recently been much to the her fine performances in "FortySecond Street" and "Gold Digger.-; ot 1933."
